Klaasvoogds Opstal - sleeps 4

The solar powered heritage building was built in 1894 by TL Kriel and was the original homestead on the farm. We have renovated the derelict building, keeping the vernacular style and the charming old beams but bringing in contemporary features, such as large windows which bring in the light and beautiful views. It has wooden floors, hand-made French shutters, sash windows, beautifully crafted wooden furniture and oil paintings. It has  its own private pool with glorious views of mountains, vineyards and orchards. It has two bedrooms, the main bedroom has a queen sized bed and freestanding ball and claw bath with a separate toilet, the second bedroom has two single beds with a big en-suite shower and a separate toilet. The  living / dining room / kitchen area is open plan with a fireplace/wood stove. The cottage has a big garden with a patio ,pool and porch with lovely views of our beautiful valley. There is an elongated stone now serving as a bench under the tree that was used some 200 years ago as a farm corner post.

It is well equipped for long stays. We have good kitchen equipment, a fireplace, two gas heaters, two fans, washing machine, microwave, dishwasher, Satellite TV (full DSTV), a CD player, a kettle braai and Nespresso coffee machine.

We regret that we can’t accommodate children under the age of 10.
